Howe Technology, a developer of advanced digital imaging solutions, introduced the OVMed OH0FA image sensor and OAH0428 bridge chip for endoscopes and catheters.

The OH0FA image sensor provides 720x720 resolution at 30 frames per second (fps)-the highest available resolution for ENT, heart, joint, obstetrics and gynecology, and uterine and renal endoscopy, providing surgeons with visibility to view And diagnose early disease. The OAH0428 bridge chip is specially developed for 720x720 resolution compatibility, which can realize the flexibility of analog-to-digital conversion and various analog and digital input and output.

OmniVision Medical Product Marketing Manager Ehsan Ayar said: “OmniVision has been working with surgeons and medical equipment OEMs for the past 15 years. Our products have been used by surgeons for more than 15 million operations, so we understand the needs of surgeons and endoscopy. Mirror requirements. Based on these feedbacks, we designed the OH0FA image sensor to provide the highest resolution with the best frame rate possible, and can flexibly increase the frame rate with a lower resolution to meet different requirements of the program. In addition, we A high degree of flexibility is also achieved through the OAH0428 bridge chip."

Compared with the 400x400 of the previous generation image sensor OVM6946, the 720x720 resolution of OH0FA has been significantly improved. OH0FA provides a selectable range of resolution and frame rate combinations according to program requirements: 720x720 30 fps, 600x600 40 fps or 400x400 60 fps. The device's high signal-to-noise ratio can produce clearer, clearer images, and has excellent color fidelity-so surgeons can see the most realistic images, so as to better diagnose and treat diseases.

OH0FA is a 0.93x0.93 mm sensor with 1/18 inch optical format. Its 1.008 µm pixel size is based on OmniVision's PureCel Plus-S pixel technology. This next-generation pixel technology also provides high color fidelity and a signal-to-noise ratio of 37.5 dB, making images clearer. PureCel Plus-S realizes OH0FA's high full well capacity, zero blooming and lower power consumption. A version of OCHFA is based on OmniVision's CameraCubeChip technology and will soon be launched for single-use endoscopes.

The special functions of the OAH0428 supporting chip include HDR, auto start, pseudo global shutter, enhanced NIR sensitivity and various safety functions. It can also be autoclaved. OAH0428 has a proprietary four-pin analog interface that can transmit up to four meters. The exposure time and gain settings can be sent from the external SPI control, automatically sent by the OAH0428 internal AEC/AGC or manually sent by the host.

OmniVision's OVMed product line consists of certified, certified and tested medical grade components. This increases the possibility and speed for medical equipment OEMs to obtain FDA certification, and at the same time provides hospitals, surgeons and patients with a high degree of confidence in endoscopic equipment.

The OH0FA image sensor and OAH0428 bridge chip are now available for samples in OmniVision's hCSP chip-scale package, which has a 100-micron-thick cover glass and anti-reflective coating. OmniVision provides an evaluation kit with a pre-tested OVMed image signal processor for rapid evaluation and development.
