Baptist Health Care has been recognized as a platinum-level, fit-friendly worksite by the American Heart Association for helping employees eat better and move more.

Platinum-level employers that offer employees physical activity options in the workplace increase healthy eating options at the worksite, promote a wellness culture in the workplace, implement at least nine criteria outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture, and demonstrate measurable outcomes related to workplace wellness.

Baptist Health Cares Healthy Lives program aids employees and employers within the community with the tools needed to achieve a healthy lifestyle by providing nutrition and fitness classes as well as one-on-one health coaching. The fit-friendly worksite program is a catalyst for positive change in the American workforce that helps worksites support employees’ health and wellness.

The Suburban West Rotary Club of Pensacola hosted its annual Change of Command dinner, where new officers for 2014-15 were installed and outstanding club members were honored. More than 120 Rotarians and guests were present for the dinner and ceremony.

Club officers for 2014-15 are Kirk Waters, president; Benny Gaines, president-elect; Heidi Blair, vice president; Doug Marks, secretary; Wes Nicholls, treasurer; RonnieArnold, immediate past president; and Harry Tuttle, sergeant-at-arms. Serving on the board are club directors Steve Clopton, Fran Crumpton, Kat Davis, Mike Miragliotta and John Stein.Committee chairs are Jennifer Cook and Trish Woodburn.

Outgoing club president Ronnie Arnold was honored for his outstanding service as president for 2013-14. Special recognition was given to Tuttle, Rotarian of the Year; Eric Doelker, Rookie Rotarian of the Year and Wayne Etheredge, Paul Condon Spirit of Rotary. Woodburn was a first-time recipient of the Arnold Babcock Service Above Self award.

Aaron Alan Cook, financial adviser at Turner Financial Group in Pace, has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the Certified Financial Planner and CFP certification marks in accordance with CFP Board certification and renewal requirements.

Cookhas been hired by Turner Financial to assist in growing their financial planning business. In addition, he was the Advisers USA LLC speaker for a flood preparedness workshop offered at the University of West Florida Commons last week.

Sharon R. McBride, Larry Stone, Millie Ward, Steve Stone and Charles G. Henry were among the record-breaking group of more than 2,400 owners and key employees of SERVPRO, an industry leader in disaster cleanup, restoration and remediation services, who attended the company’s 45th annual convention in Nashville, Tenn.

Levin Rinke Resort Realty has recognized the Mark Lee team for breaking a new record for the first half of 2014.

The team, consisting of Mark Lee, Cherry Fitch, Steven Gray and Gary Michaels, closed more than $30 million for the first half of the year. The team works locally with some of the best companies in the market to assist with their recruitment and relocation efforts. The team has ranked No. 1 in sales volume for the past several years and has closed more than $100 million in real estate in the past 24 months.

Fitch joined Lee in 2006 after 30 years in the Gulf Breeze school system. She is relocation director for the team and assists families relocating with the school systems.

Michaels joined the company after 20 years in the nursing home industry, attaining high 5-star rankings throughout Florida. He oversees overall operations and marketing for the team.

Gray joined the team this year and oversees the team’s Internet and marketing presentations for the team’s listings.

Leo Villegas, board-certified surgeon specializing in the treatment of liver, pancreatic and gastrointestinal tumors, has opened an office at 730 Bayfront Parkway, Suite 4A, in downtown Pensacola.

Villegas, who trained at Harvard Medical School and Duke University Medical Center and is fellowship-trained in surgical oncology, often serves as part of a multidisciplinary team of physicians working together to treat complex cancers.

At Duke, he conducted research and underwent training in laparoscopic surgery and robotics, which enables him to offer patients the least invasive procedures possible. He has advanced training in numerous areas including tumors, liver metastases and hepatocellular carcinoma.
