Former beauty pageant contestant and swimming champion Nafisa Ali is most known for her work in the movies Junoon, Major Saab, Bewafaa, Life In A Metro, and Yamla Pagla Deewana. In Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, she was last seen.Her upcoming project is Uunchai, a film featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Parineeti Chopra. She has recently joined politics too and defines herself as an activist for real issues. Nafisa Ali Sodhi was diagnosed with leukoderma almost three years ago and she battled it with utmost strength.

Talking about her cancer journey, Nafisa says, “For one year, I fought with cancer and the next year went in recovering and getting fit.” She used to think she was unstoppable, but receiving a cancer diagnosis was a life-altering event. She once had a stage 3 cancer diagnosis, but she never lost hope. She believes that her recovery has been aided by the prayers and blessings of the universe and other people. Swimming at the national level was something else that she believes helped her deal with the sickness.

The actor frequently shared her health updates on social media platforms. She once shared a video from her cancer-battling days and captioned it as, “This was me 2 years ago after my big peritoneal cancer surgery. The doctors, the medical team who cared for me and the hospital were amazing as they gave me courage. Happy and celebrating life today with my super positive family.” You can watch the video here.

Today on her Instagram, Sodhi updated about her health that a mass has been detected in her latest PET scan and she’ll undergo a laparoscopic surgery after which a biopsy will determine the nature of the mass. She has written, “Done my PET and they have discovered a nodule near my lung but It’s below my rib cage and above my diaphragm ,so a laparoscopic surgery, via the right rib has to be done to remove it and check if cancerous. Just as well I got my PET done and hopefully the surgeon will nip it in the bud . Most probably on Friday in Delhi .”
