-ColoAssist PRO is the latest system launched as part of the ELUXEO Ultra platform, providing a complete and comprehensive software package for endoscopists

Dusseldorf, Germany, November 24, 2021/PRNewswire/ - Fujifilm has launched ColoAssist PRO, a real-time endoscopic visualization system designed to help endoscopists perform colonoscopy.

ColoAssist PRO is the latest system of Fujifilm ELUXEO Ultra series technology. The real-time endoscope visualization system allows clinicians to visualize the configuration of the endoscope during the entire operation, and is designed to help healthcare professionals efficiently and accurately manipulate the colonoscope in the patient.

ColoAssist PRO uses AI technology CAD EYE in combination with the existing ELUXEO platform and colon polyp detection and characterization capabilities to provide enhanced support for operators and provide endoscopists with Fujifilm's most powerful and comprehensive software package.

Due to the increasing incidence of colorectal cancer throughout Europe, endoscopists are facing a growing demand. Early detection and diagnosis of cancer and precancerous lesions have been shown to significantly reduce the complexity of treatment and improve the prognosis of patients. Therefore, the demand for efficient, accurate and comfortable endoscopic surgery is essential for clinicians and patients.

Fujifilm’s goal is to ensure that healthcare professionals always have the best tools at their fingertips to provide patients with the best care. Therefore, the ELUXEO Ultra platform is constantly updated to meet the needs and requirements of clinicians, making it still the most advanced and future-oriented choice for improving patient care and quality of life.

The endoscope visualization system uses the electromagnetic coil integrated in the Transceiver Dish to generate an electromagnetic field, which is received by the coil integrated in the dedicated colonoscope and Hand Marker. The electromagnetic field is used to determine the position of the endoscope coil in the patient's body, and then to reproduce the graphic model of the endoscope next to the doctor's endoscope view.

The new interface of ColoAssist PRO is user-friendly. With its image centering function, endoscopists can perform operations without ignoring the position of the graphical endoscope. The system also integrates a color grading function, so that the endoscopist can better identify overlapping parts of the endoscope, such as the ring structure, so as to safely manipulate the endoscope and continue the operation, which may prevent the patient from feeling discomfort.

Mat Tallis, European Business Manager of FUJILM Europe GmbH said:

"Colonoscopy can be complicated and tiresome for the endoscopist, and it can also be uncomfortable for the patient.

"Fujifilm's new feature, ColoAssist PRO, allows clinicians to view the endoscope configuration in real time by reproducing the graphical model of the endoscope during the intubation process. The endoscopic visualization system has the potential to increase the confidence and efficiency of the endoscopist by enabling recognition The ring formation allows the endoscopist to make better decisions, thereby reducing the burden on the patient during the operation. It may also reduce the time required for endoscopy.

“At Fujifilm, we are working with endoscopists to provide new solutions to meet their needs and requirements, from screening to treatment. ColoAssist PRO is just the latest member of the ELUXEO Ultra series of technologies, and it may produce More efficient diagnosis and better results for patients."

Dr. Robert Berger, Director of Endoscopy at Moncton Hospital in Canada, said:

"According to my own experience, clinicians must have the right technology to perform efficient, accurate and simple colonoscopy. In my practice, minimizing the discomfort during endoscopy is crucial.

"Using the new ELUXEO Ultra ColoAssist PRO, it enables easier and clearer manipulation of the colonoscope during surgery. I believe this helps maintain comfort and helps reduce the use of sedatives. The technology is compact, easy to use, and The ability to change the view on the handle of the oscilloscope is very convenient. In addition, ColoAssist PRO works well with the ELUXEO platform and CAD EYE (a colon polyp detection and characterization function using AI technology), providing better support for clinicians. "
